Carbon Steel (Grade C30)

Grade Introduction:

Grade C30 steel is a medium tensile strength steel alloy. Typically any component, for e.g. a C30 Steel Round Bar is to be supplied either in a black hot rolled or in a normalized condition. The Brinell hardness of this steel alloy ranges between 160 and 190, whereas its tensile strength ranges between a moderate value of 570 – 700 MPa. Despite being a medium tensile steel alloy, the C30 Carbon Steel Rod has good machinability, good weldability, while exhibiting high impact properties.

However, these properties are well identified only if the C30 Round Bar has been supplied either in a normalized or hot rolled condition. In addition to having a carbon rich chemistry, the alloy for C30 Hot Rods also contains significant additions of manganese, phosphorus and sulphur.

Supplied Condition:

Hot Rolled

Grade Applications:

The main users of this medium tensile, low cost, carbon steel C30 Roof Bars are in the general engineering sector, especially in the manufacture of machinery and auto parts.
